Google Play: Data safety

Play Console questionAnswer
Does your app collect or share any of the required user data types? No
Resulting labelNo data collected · No data shared with third parties

Data processed only on the device and never sent off it is not "collected" under Google Play's definition. Backups, exports and decrypted copies go where you send them through the system save dialog. That is a transfer you start yourself, not collection by the developer.

Apple App Store: App Privacy

Label: Data Not Collected. Tracking: No. The app's privacy manifest declares NSPrivacyTracking = false and lists only the required-reason system APIs that the .NET runtime uses (file timestamps, system boot time, disk space and user defaults), none of them for tracking.

Under Apple's definition, data is "collected" only when it is transmitted off the device in a way that the developer or its partners can access. Operator Crypt contains no networking code, so content you store never reaches the developer.

Permissions

PermissionPlatformWhy
Read / write external storageAndroid 12 and older onlyTo save files you choose (Save to phone, backups, exports). Newer Android versions use the system save dialog instead.
None otherAndroid and iOSNo Internet, location, camera, microphone, contacts or advertising identifier.

Device protections

  • On Android, vault data is excluded from Google cloud backup and device-to-device transfer, and screenshots and screen recording are blocked.
  • Copied passwords are flagged as sensitive on Android 13 and later and wiped from the clipboard automatically.
  • On iOS, vault data is excluded from iCloud backup, and the app switcher shows a blank screen.

Age rating and audience

  • Google Play content rating: IARC, utility / productivity app, rated for everyone.
  • App Store age rating: 4+ (no objectionable content, no user-generated content shared with others).
  • Target audience: adults. The app is not directed to children (see the Privacy Policy).

Encryption and export compliance

Operator Crypt uses only standard encryption algorithms (AES-GCM, HKDF, and Argon2id for key derivation) to protect the user's own data on the device. It has no network communication and no proprietary cryptography. The app is declared to Apple as using encryption exempt under the mass-market and data-at-rest provisions (ITSAppUsesNonExemptEncryption = false).
